Power generation equipments project breaks into Russia

Recently, Harbin Power Equipment Corporation signed a contract with Heilongjiang Sirio Power Plant Equipment Company to supply three major components for Russian Teluoyizike Power Station. The contract has a total value of 1.45 billion yuan, making a major breakthrough to the Russian power equipments market.

The power plant is to be built in Teluoyizike in Chelyabinsk State. The three major components covered in the contract include a boiler, a turbine and a motor, which will be installed to form two ultra critical units to serve the power station when it is built.

Russian used to be a super power in the manufacturing of power plant equipments. In its prime time of rapid development in power generation, all power plants are installed with home-made equipments produced by several large Russian Power Companies. In recent years, power development slowed down. The annual installed capacity is only equivalent to the combined monthly production of the three major power companies, and its power station equipments manufacturing technology has been falling behind. In recent years. Russian has proposed to increase its annual installed capacity to 50 million KW in the next 3 to 5 years. As a result, purchasing technology-intensive power plant equipments has become a priority for Russia.

In February, armed with its advanced technology and fair price, Harbin Power Equipment Corporation won the bid. At the end of April, it has received deposit from its partner, Heilongjiang Sirio Power Plant Equipment Company, symbolizing the contract with Russia has come into effect.
