On 29 October 2008, a fantastic display of traditional Chinese drummers opened the exhibition at Global Wind Power 2008, held in the New China International Exhibition Center (New CIEC). The event attracted both domestic and international professionals with its 16,000 m2 exhibition area and 249 exhibiting companies.
Over 12,000 professional visitors toured the only exhibition in China where all of the world’s leading turbine manufacturers displayed their technology. Other exhibitors included over 200 component suppliers covering the whole supply chain; from turbines, blades, bearings, gearboxes, hubs, towers, to yawing system, controlling systems, transmission systems and monitoring systems. Such a meeting place for the entire industry in China is important so that technology can be shared and sales can be made.
The conference at Global Wind Power 2008 is the uncontested leader of the wind industry. The high-level speakers attracted 1,500 conference attendees from all over the world, illustrating the world’s interest in the booming Chinese wind industry. Highlights of the conference include the CEO Forum, where Wu Gang, President of Goldwind; Han Junliang, President of Sinovel; and Mr. Zhang Dingjin, CEO of China Composite Group shared their thoughts on the Chinese wind industry with the CEOs of Nordex and Siemens Wind Power. At the Continental Forum, the President of the Chinese Wind Energy Association expressed his views on the future development of the wind power industry together with his counterparts from the European Wind Energy Association and American Wind Energy Association.
After the exciting three days, Global Wind Power 2008 conference and exhibition ended with many satisfied visitors and exhibitors.
Exhibition sales for the follow-up conference, China Wind Power 2009, to take place in Beijing, China on 20-22 October 2009 will open soon.
